International Year of Canadian Music (IYCM)/l'Année internationale de la musique canadienne (l'AIMC). Event held to celebrate and promote concert music by Canadian composers. The idea of having a 'music year' for a specific country originated with the international group of Music Information Centres (MIC) in the 1970s. At a 1984 MIC meeting John Miller, the executive director of the Canadian Music Centre, received official endorsement to hold the IYCM in 1986.

Année internationale de la musique canadienne (AIMC)/International Year of Canadian Music (IYCM). Manifestation organisée pour honorer et promouvoir la musique de concert des compositeurs canadiens. L'idée d'avoir une «année musicale» consacrée à un pays en particulier a pris naissance dans les années 1970 au sein des Centres d'information musicale (CIM), un organisme international. À la réunion du CIM en 1984, John Miller, alors directeur exécutif du Centre de musique canadienne, recevait le mandat officiel pour tenir l'AIMC au Canada en 1986.
